Get the best results from your Every Slot Reserved placeholder kit by using the recommended print settings below.
Recommended Print Settings
- Scale: 100% / Actual Size
- Orientation: Portrait
- Paper Size: US Letter (8.5 × 11 in)
- Color: Color recommended
- Quality: Standard or High
- Two-sided printing: Off
Important: Avoid “Fit to Page,” “Shrink to Fit,” or other automatic scaling options. These can change the dimensions of the placeholders.
Choosing Paper
Standard printer paper works well for most collections. If you prefer a sturdier placeholder, you can use a slightly heavier paper or light cardstock, provided your printer supports it.
- Standard copy paper: easiest and most economical
- Heavier paper: gives placeholders a firmer feel
- Check your printer’s supported paper weight before using cardstock
Cutting Your Placeholders
Each page includes cut guides to help you trim the placeholders to size.
- Scissors work fine for small batches
- A paper cutter can make larger batches faster and more consistent
- Cut along the provided guide lines
- Take your time around the edges so the finished placeholder fits neatly into the binder pocket
Placing Them in Your Binder
Insert each placeholder into the corresponding binder slot. When you add the actual card to your collection, simply remove the placeholder and replace it with the card.
Tip: Keep your original PDF saved somewhere safe so you can reprint individual placeholders later.
Troubleshooting Print Size
If a placeholder looks too large or too small, check your printer settings first. In most cases, the issue is caused by automatic scaling.
- Confirm Scale is set to 100% or Actual Size
- Make sure the correct paper size is selected
- Disable “Fit,” “Shrink,” or “Scale to Fit”
- Try printing a single page before printing the full kit
